SHAGG FILM FESTIVAL 2008
One Sunday afternoon in March (the 16th to be exact) when we have grown weary of Winter”s onbslaught of deary weather, friends, family, neighbors and strangers will pour into the Chester Meeting House (CT, USA) to view 2 1/2 hours of films created by friends, family , neighbors and strangers. Movies no more than eight minutes in length thatfulfill no particular parameters other than they were produced as a creative expression of a friend, family, neighbor or stranger. A movie maybe funny, serious, silly, politically moving or meaningless. It doesn’t matter. Our goal is just to come out of the cold and into the warmth of a community project that merely takes place for fun - like walking barefoot on a red Shagg Carpet.
The Festival:
- 2 and 1/2 hours in length
- total number of film minutes = 2 1/2 hours
- If entries exceed 2 1/2 hours, there will be a special B-sides presentation after the main Festival.
*The committee will decide which films make the Festival vs the B-sides
The Movie:
- may be a maximum of eight minutes in length
- can be viewed by any age group. * the committee has the final say about ratings
- the film must be submitted in DVD -R format
- There are no categories
- There are no awards, no judges
- ENTRY CUT OFF DATE -------FEBRUARY 16TH 2008
Who can make a Movie?:
- anyone living in or outside of Chester
- any age
- anyone who can hold a camera or tell someone else to hold it and what to shoot
We ask that someone represents the film/ production team at the festival but realise this is not always possible if living outside of the USA.
